Firms that have an accounting and auditing practice are required by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to be enrolled in an approved AICPA practice monitoring or peer review program. For Texas firms, the AICPA peer review program is administrered by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).
As our firm performs audit engagements, we are required every three years to have the highest level of peer review which is called a System Review. In a System Review the peer reviewer determines if our firm's system of quality control for its accounting and auditing practice is suitably designed and complied with to provide the firm with reasonable assurance of performing and reporting in conformity with all applicable professional standards.
Peer review reports are essentially a "pass or fail" type report. We are pleased to disclose that our firm has a history of pass reports without findings or reported deficiencies. Additionally because our firm is a member of the AICPA Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) we voluntarily disclose the results our peer review for the general public to view and use.
